Villa Farsetti becomes an urban space, between art, design and new visions

With the exhibition “Street Art. Fino all’ultimo muro”, Villa Farsetti opens its doors to a powerful, direct, and contemporary artistic language: street art. This exhibition was created with the aim of presenting urban art not merely as a rebellious gesture linked to the streets, but as a form of expression capable of redefining spaces, identities, and communities.

In a striking and historically rich setting such as Villa Farsetti, street art enters into dialogue with historic architecture, creating a poetic and unexpected contrast. The urban mark, born to be ephemeral, engages with frescoes, monumental halls, and ancient surfaces, transforming itself into living memory, collective storytelling, and cultural heritage.

The exhibition brings together established artists from the Italian and international scenes, creating a journey where past and present meet. The grandeur of the villa embraces the free energy of urban art, giving rise to an immersive experience in which each artwork becomes a new interpretation of space.

The exhibition route symbolically transforms the villa into a vast urban wall. The works, including large-scale pieces created specifically for the exhibition, reinterpret the historic interiors as a contemporary landscape, while fully respecting the architectural identity of the spaces.

Alongside the artworks, videos, photographs, and documents guide visitors through a narrative dedicated to the origins and evolution of global street art: from the writing movement of the 1970s to the most recent forms of artistic expression.

In this dialogue between artistic languages, Instabilelab also contributes to shaping the atmosphere of the exhibition spaces through the presence of its upholstered furnishings and rugs. Design elements that do not merely complete the exhibition setup, but actively take part in its visual narrative: surfaces, textures, and volumes become an integral part of the experience, creating spaces for pause, interaction, and contemplation.

Instabilelab furnishings accompany visitors along a journey where art, architecture, and interior design intertwine. The upholstered pieces offer comfort and welcome, while the rugs define and soften the space. Among them, the Andromeda 01 rug stands out, blending seamlessly into a perfect dialogue with Memorie Tattili, the artwork by Alessandra Carloni. This synergy helps transform the villa’s rooms into contemporary, vibrant, and immersive environments. A presence that reflects the brand’s vision, always driven by the intersection of decoration, design, and creative freedom.

At the heart of the main room, the experience becomes even more immersive, transforming into a true visual and sensory island. Here, the Clouwer rug serves as a stage for a refined constellation of floral forms: the compact Club pouf, the geometric balance of the Relaxia pouf, and the elegant Freya armchair, made unique by the nuances of the Verena graphic design. This design ensemble engages in an open dialogue with the narrative dimension of Alessandra Carloni’s artworks, Arizona Dream and Libero Pensiero. The furnishings are no longer mere objects; they become pieces of an artistic mosaic, amplifying the sense of journey and imagination that flows from the canvases into the lived space.

Moving into another room, the visual narrative shifts in rhythm and opens up to even more contemporary and daring inspirations. Here, the Olisia rug provides an elegant foundation for the Alicudi pouf, dressed for the occasion in the intriguing and exotic Tahira 01.a graphic design. This furnishing composition welcomes and amplifies the powerful urban energy of Bimbo Bang, the artwork by Evyrein. The striking visual interplay between the refined ornamental language of Instabilelab design and the edgy character of the artwork creates a corner of remarkable impact, demonstrating the brand’s ability to engage in dialogue with every form of expression.

The exhibition aims to transform Villa Farsetti into a contemporary meeting place where different languages converge: urban art, historical memory, design, and reflection on collective space. It is a project that invites visitors to see the wall not merely as a boundary, but as a narrative surface, a place of passage, and a realm of possibilities.

“Street Art. Fino all’ultimo muro” thus becomes much more than an exhibition: it is a meeting point between seemingly distant worlds, a story about marks, memory, and the transformation of spaces. A journey in which Villa Farsetti becomes a city, the wall becomes a narrative, and Instabilelab’s design accompanies the experience with its ability to give shape, character, and identity to environments.

Ten years of creativity, research and continuous evolution: a milestone that Instabilelab celebrated on June 12 with a major event together with collaborators, agents and everyone who has contributed to the brand’s growth over the years.

Founded in Spinea as a creative laboratory dedicated to wallpaper and established in Santa Maria di Sala in 2016, Instabilelab has built a recognizable and constantly evolving identity over time, redefining the concept of interior decoration through collections capable of blending languages, materials and surfaces, transforming every project into a unique visual story. A journey marked by significant milestones, from participation in leading international trade fairs and events hosted at its headquarters to collaborations with prominent brands in the industry and, in 2023, the opening of the The Club showroom, an immersive and experiential space dedicated to designers, clients and partners to fully experience the Instabilelab world.

Today, Instabilelab is a constantly evolving design universe where the fusion of graphic art, interior design and decoration gives life to wallpapers, fabrics, rugs and coordinated furnishings that create highly personalized atmospheres. A journey that continues to look ahead while remaining true to its nature, moving through iconic collections, material experimentation and bespoke projects that go beyond the traditional boundaries of interior design.

Instabilelab’s identity: a philosophy driven by creative experimentation

The name Instabilelab embodies the very essence of the brand: instability not as a limitation, but as a creative driving force. An approach that interprets change as an opportunity for continuous evolution, experimentation and the exploration of new aesthetic languages.

The brand’s beginnings are also represented by the skull symbol, an iconic element that accompanied Instabilelab’s communication in its early years as a representation of breaking away from traditional decorative conventions. From the very beginning, Instabilelab chose to stand out through a design vision capable of combining creativity, contemporary craftsmanship and Made in Italy quality. Each collection is born from a research process involving textures, materials, colors and printing technologies, with the aim of offering a high expressive value.

From wallpaper to a universe of coordinated surfaces

Instabilelab’s origins are deeply rooted in the desire to transform wall decoration into an immersive design tool. Among the products that marked the brand’s evolution, several projects stand out for expanding the concept of decorative surfaces by integrating functional and scenic elements.

Book Access, for example, combined wallpaper and storage modules to create striking optical illusions, while Book Ghost introduced an integrated wall structure designed to hold books and other objects. With Light+Light, Instabilelab experimented with special photoluminescent paints capable of glowing in the dark only in selected areas, transforming the wall into a surprising visual experience. Art Kitchen brought decoration into the kitchen environment through water and heat resistant surfaces designed for backsplashes with a strong aesthetic impact.

In 2018, Custom-me was launched, a manifesto project of expressive freedom according to Instabilelab. The concept stemmed from the idea of removing boundaries between surfaces, objects and decoration, creating visual continuity between walls, fabrics, furnishings and furniture. This led to products such as Klauss tables, available in different sizes and fully customizable, Beautiful Light lamps, conceived as scenic protagonists even when switched off, and the first Relaxia and Silla upholstered furnishings, which can be covered with more than 1,600 different textures. Completing the project are the Florero planters, decorative elements designed to bring a touch of color to both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Over the following years, Instabilelab progressively expanded its creative universe through the iconic collections currently available on the website: Sfumature di Magnolia, Remember Me, Memories, 24K, Materia, Avenue, My Way, In.colore and I.Magine, each distinguished by its own visual and material language.

At the same time, the brand evolved beyond traditional wallpaper through product lines dedicated to fabrics and furnishing elements: Carpetia Royal and CarpetiaLAB rugs, CurtainLAB curtain systems and Collezione Privata Volumeuno upholstered furnishings, extending its language across coordinated surfaces and interior accessories.

This journey has also been supported by continuous technological research aimed at enhancing both the aesthetics and performance of decorative surfaces. In 2025, for example, the introduction of a new cutting machine made it possible to achieve even greater visual precision and ensure a cleaner, more uniform final result, minimizing wrinkles, misalignments and installation touch ups.

10 years of collections designed for distinctive projects

Over the past decade, Instabilelab has established itself as a creative partner for architects, interior designers and professionals seeking customized and coherent decorative solutions. Collections are not conceived as standalone elements, but as design tools capable of interacting with one another to create immersive, scenic and perfectly coordinated environments. Wallpapers, fabrics, rugs and furnishing accessories thus become part of a single aesthetic narrative.

This vision will continue to guide the future of the brand, focusing on new creative contaminations, innovative decorative languages and products increasingly attentive to environmental sustainability.

The celebration held on June 12 represented not only the commemoration of an important anniversary but also the beginning of a new phase in Instabilelab’s evolution: a brand that for ten years has continued to transform surfaces and materials into expressive tools for contemporary interior design.

Near Lucerne, where the Swiss lakeside landscape meets contemporary architecture, a residential project takes shape that redefines the concept of bathroom environment, transforming it from a purely functional space into a private sensory sanctuary. Here, in a newly built structure that complements a historic residence, Livingdreams — an interior design studio based in Switzerland and Mallorca — demonstrates how design expertise and the ability to master innovative materials can generate atmospheres of rare emotional impact.

At the heart of this transformation, Golden Leaf wallpaper by Instabilelab emerges as the real protagonist: not merely a decorative covering, but a true architectural element capable of enveloping the entire space in a continuous visual narrative. The large-scale leaves, enriched with gold foil on a Tex Prestige substrate, transform the full-height walls into a theatrical backdrop that interacts with the natural light of the lakeside landscape and the design of contemporary furnishings.

The result is a space where luxury and nature, ingenuity and poetry coexist in perfect balance. The private spa proves Livingdreams‘ ability to translate ambitious visions into effective reality, supported by Instabilelab‘s technical expertise and innovative solutions.

We met with Nicole Hoch, founder of Livingdreams, to explore the design strategies and technical challenges that made this transformation possible.

– Transforming a bathroom into a sensory spa requires a design vision that goes beyond mere functionality. How did you develop the concept for this space, and which role did Golden Leaf graphic play in defining its emotional identity?

We wanted a modern, airy and delicate area that could connect with the trees and clearly stand out from the historic house. Thanks to the wide frameless windows, the centre of the pavilion feels like a green cave, offering scenic views among the trees. The close connection with nature is an essential part of both the architecture and the interior design.

– The choice of Instabilelab’s Tex Prestige substrate was crucial to the project’s technical success, ensuring moisture resistance in a spa environment. Beyond its functional performance, the integrated gold foil creates reflections and depth that interact with lighting. How did you approach the lighting design — from the backlit mirror to the illuminated niches — to enhance these textural qualities?

Through the many exhibitions I organised with my company, I’ve always valued staged lighting setups, because they create a dreamlike atmosphere. The eye is drawn to specific corners, etc., and the various materials take center stage, coming together to form a unified whole, a specific mood. With the help of Instabilelab, we were able to extend this wonderful staging all the way into the moist environments — and the Instabilelab team did a fantastic job in giving shape to the many design requirements. My wish was for the wallpaper pattern to look perfect whether the door was open or not; that was not so easy, but it worked out!

– The use of cladding flush doors with the same graphic represents a sophisticated technical and stylistic choice that requires millimetric precision in alignment and pattern continuity. Which were the main challenges during this phase, and how did the collaboration with Instabilelab help achieve such seamless narrative continuity?

Instabilelab‘s graphics team is highly professional, and it quickly becomes clear that such challenges are in their DNA — demanding, but absolutely achievable.

– Livingdreams operates between Switzerland and Mallorca, two very different geographical and cultural contexts. How do these two landscapes — alpine-lakeside and Mediterranean — influence your design approach? In this Lucerne project, the use of lush tropical imagery creates a deliberate contrast with the exterior: is this “sensory journey” strategy part of your design philosophy, or was it a specific response to the client’s needs?

The collection by Livingdreams offers durable, no-frills, custom-made furniture and home accessories, characterised by the use of valuable materials and a timeless design. The pieces are designed to be practical and blend into their surroundings, thus merging into a harmonious whole. A harmony that cannot be imagined in any other way. A perfect symbiosis: this is our commitment to our clients. That is why we are a good fit for both the city and the countryside, north and south.

– Designing for oneself is one of the most complex challenges: the filters of client expectations disappear, and personal desires emerge, often clashing with rational design thinking. How did you manage this dual role — designer and client — in the choice of Golden Leaf graphic?

This project felt no different than when my team and I put our heart and soul into other projects for our clients. The choice of colours and materials was very clear from the beginning and didn’t change. But surprisingly, this newly built house was almost more complex than the many renovations we’ve done for ourselves in the past. It was more complex because almost anything was possible. And it was clear that a beautiful design and the materials used also had to be practical — we didn’t want to compromise on that.

The Lucerne project demonstrates how wallpaper can transcend its decorative role to become a defining architectural element. Golden Leaf graphic does not simply cover the walls, it transforms them into a theatrical backdrop that interacts with light, the lakeside landscape, and the experience of those who inhabit the space.

Nicole Hoch’s words reveal a clear philosophy: design and functionality are not compromises, but allies. Every choice — from the moisture-resistant Tex Prestige substrate to the millimetric alignment around flush doors, up to the careful calibration of the lighting to enhance the reflections of gold foil — reflects this integrated vision.

This confirms that when the materials are able to meet complex technical challenges, creative freedom can fully express itself without constraints. A bathroom environment can become what Livingdreams has managed to create: a sensory sanctuary designed to be lived in, not merely passed through.

In interior design, carpets and moquette are not just accessory elements, but true protagonists capable of shaping the environment and defining its identity together with furniture and surfaces. Textures, patterns, colours and tactile effects become expressive tools that contribute to creating consistent and distinctive environments.

Instabilelab reinterprets the concept of modern carpet thanks to a creative design approach based on a variety of available supports and a wide choice of patterns and configurations. From the bold graphics and distinctive shapes of the CarpetiaLAB collection, up to the timeless elegance of Carpetia Royal, each product is designed to blend harmoniously into the space and offer infinite compositional possibilities.

CarpetiaLAB and Carpetia Royal: two interpretations of contemporary carpet

CarpetiaLAB was created as a selection of specific portions of My Way graphics. Both My Way and CarpetiaLAB are the result of unflagging aesthetic research. They stand out for a range of innovative and coordinated proposals, revolutionising the concept of customised furniture thanks to unique pieces that harmoniously interact with each other and the surrounding space.

Such vision expresses the idea of a carpet that becomes the protagonist: textures, solid colours and innovative patterns reinvent the traditional format, giving shape to a creative surface. Forms break away from convention and follow the identity of the project, leaving room for unconventional compositions.

On the other hand, Carpetia Royal interprets the luxury version of the modern carpet, with graphics selected from the Remember Me collection that create an elegant and timeless proposal, designed for exclusive environments where the carpet becomes an object of value and prestige.

The carpet as a design element: materials, aesthetics and performance

Carpets and moquette take on a central role in defining the atmosphere and perception of space in contemporary projects. According to this perspective, the variety of materials becomes an essential element, which is capable of influencing not only the visual aspect, but also the tactile and functional performance. Instabilelab offers a range of durable and resistant supports, with an increasing focus on sustainability behind the choice of raw materials.

Luxury Soft 11.5 is a soft and high-quality support characterised by an enveloping and nuanced colour palette, ideal to give full expression to the vibrant colours of the Carpetia Royal collection. Moketa is characterised by a delicate and comfortable surface, intense colour range and high printing performance, which allow to perfectly highlight any Instabilelab graphic. Both supports have recently been renewed in order to be manufactured from sustainable materials, while maintaining the excellent features of the original product.

As an alternative to the classic carpet, Instabilelab’s moquette proves to be a high-quality solution, which is mostly appreciated for its flawless design and ease of cleaning. Made with the same material as the Moketa support, it has different applications and design use, thus offering additional compositional possibilities in the room.

Carpets, moquette and wallpaper: a coordinated approach that makes the room unique

In interior design, carpets have the advantage of being an independent element capable of enhancing any project with great versatility, both in the hotel world and in public and residential environments.

The offer by Instabilelab is developed through a coordinated language that makes use of different surfaces, where the combination of carpet and wallpaper allows the creation of visually coherent and balanced environments. According to this design vision, the carpets of CarpetiaLAB take on a prominent role due to their bold character, while also finding a perfect visual balance when combined with softer wallpapers. Among them, the I.magine collection introduces neutral tones and light graphics, designed to soften the perception of space. On the other hand, the In.colore collection displays monochrome and textured surfaces that act as a balancing element, thus completing the composition.

This approach allows the creation of harmonious environments without visual excess, where contrast becomes a measured design tool. Consequently, the carpet becomes the protagonist in a context where vertical surfaces give life to a harmonious continuity, balancing the different decorative elements.

In the hospitality world, furnishing a hotel room plays a fundamental role in defining the guest experience: the room is not just a functional space dedicated to relax, but a place where the atmosphere must be designed to create an authentic feeling of well-being and hospitality. In this sense, designing a stylish environment means to give a significant contribution to the perception of the overall quality of the hotel.

Hotel room furniture: how to customise spaces with interior design

Interior design becomes a strategic tool to enhance and differentiate the identity of a hotel, making it recognisable in the eyes of guests. Coordinated colours, materials, textures and graphics create a harmonious environment full of personality: combining wallpaper, furnishing fabrics, curtains and carpets allows to build an integrated decorative design and a distinctive and coherent visual narrative, in which each element contributes to defining a unique context. The result is a hotel room conceived as an immersive space, where design and comfort are combined to offer a memorable experience.

Hotel room furniture: how to create a coordinated design with the collections by Instabilelab

For a hotel room, coherent style represents a fundamental added value to build environments that make an impression. A coordinated design allows to create a visual balance where each factor interacts with the other, helping define a precise and well-constructed atmosphere.

According to this vision, wallpaper becomes the starting point of the entire concept. As a matter of fact, the choice of graphics, colours and textures guides the selection of all the other elements, thus giving shape to the style of the room. Our wallpaper can be integrated into the design in different ways: by discreetly decorating the space – without overpowering it – as with the In.colore collection; by taking on a more central role, as with the I.magine collection, thus becoming the delicate protagonist of a balanced and elegant environment; or by becoming a scenic presence, as with the My Way collection, thanks to bolder and more decisive graphics.

Starting from this design basis, it is possible to develop a coordinated system that involves the entire furnishing. The cushions, bed frames, wall panels and upholstered items from Collezione Privata Volumeuno are created with the same patterns of the My Way collection, but can be covered with furniture fabrics designed with any graphics from our Instabilelab collections (with the exception of 24K collection), thus ensuring continuity between surfaces and volumes. In addition, the systems of CurtainLAB help define the atmosphere of the room, adding depth by modulating the intensity of natural light based on the fabric chosen. To complete the project, we offer the design carpets of CarpetiaLAB, which use the same patterns and colours of Instabilelab’s graphics to end the composition with sophistication.

Hotel room furniture and common areas: a coordinated style for the entire building

An effective furnishing project can extend beyond the individual room, involving also common spaces to create a linear visual identity throughout the building. Aesthetic continuity between different environments helps strengthening the brand perception of the hotel and making the guest experience unforgettable. The hall, in particular, is the first point of contact with the facility. In that area, solutions such as wall panels, carpets and upholstery allow to create an elegant and distinctive reception area, capable of conveying a precise and recognisable style from the outset.

The possibility to replicate materials, graphics and colour palettes also in lounges and common areas is fundamental to maintain a uniform design language between the different spaces, making each room part of a larger narrative. The advantages of this approach are manifold, resulting in greater visual impact, a well-defined identity, and a more engaging experience for the guests. Coordinated furniture becomes a strategic tool to stand out and leave a lasting impression in the memory of those who experience the hotel.

Located a few steps away from the beach of Lido del Sole (Bibione, VE), Residence Diana is a project that redefines the very concept of residential hospitality. Not just a simple apartment complex, but a mosaic of different atmospheres where each unit has its own visual identity while belonging to the same narrative.

Architect Marco Zanello designed a project where Instabilelab wallpaper does not simply cover the walls, but transforms them into active architectural elements: the surfaces interact with light, with the furniture, with the experience of temporary living. From the botanical atmospheres of Francisca to the contemplative dunes of Dylan, from the geometric rigour of Febe to the bold elegance of Frida, from the flowing lines of Amante to the vintage style of Torvi, from the smoothness of Ruby and Illinois to the scenographic impact of Verde Felce, Belmont, Samir and Ammoniti: each apartment tells a different chapter of the same story.

Sartorial attention to detail is one of the main features of the project: in various rooms, the cushions – coordinated with the fabrics to match the wallpaper – are used to reinforce the harmony of colours, thus bringing design coherence from the wall to the furnishing accessory. An integrated approach that shows how Instabilelab’s total look can extend beyond the vertical surface, decorating the entire environment.

We interviewed Architect Zanello to learn about the design choices behind this project. He explained how to build a visual identity capable of making each apartment unique and, at the same time, part of a recognisable system.

– Residence Diana houses several apartments. Each one has its own visual identity but they all form part of the same project. How did you create this balance between uniqueness and coherence? Was there a compositional logic that guided the assignment of Instabilelab’s graphics to the different environments?

Residence Diana was intended as a unitary project, so the first step was to define a common structure: base colours, recurring materials, quality of light, and other constant elements (signage, proportions, general tone). On this basis, we managed to create the uniqueness of each apartment as if they were different chapters of the same story.

Together with Instabilelab, we did not randomly “assign the graphics”: we designed a compositional logic linked to the nature and use of the space. In essence, we gave an identity to each environment based on three criteria:

Light and orientation: more energetic graphics where we needed dynamism, softer graphics where we needed serenity. In the brightest apartment (no. 35 facing the sea), we chose a more vibrant graphic (Papaveri 01), while in the more intimate one, we chose a softer texture (apartment no. 4 – Febe graphic 01);

Dimension and rhythm: denser or more airy patterns depending on the proportions;

Desired atmosphere: cosy, playful, more “elegant”, more Mediterranean, etc.

Each flat is recognisable and different, but still “pertains” to Residence Diana, because the original structure – materials, colour tone and visual hierarchies – holds everything together.

– In this project, wallpaper is not limited to the wall: in several rooms, you used cushions coordinated with the fabrics to match the graphics. How did you come up with the idea of extending the visual language from the vertical surface to the furnishing accessory? What is the impact on the overall atmosphere of the room?

The idea came from the desire to prevent wallpaper from remaining a “backdrop”. Instead, we wanted it to become part of a inhabitable language. When a pattern really works, it is not just a decoration: it can build atmosphere, rhythm, identity. Extending it to the cushions was a way of bringing the design from the vertical surface to the level of everyday contact, thus making it closer, more domestic, more lived-in.

It is the same idea behind the choice of white for bed and bath linen: a sort of luminous “canvas” that leaves the cushions with a central role.

From a design point of view, it was also a choice of coherence: the graphic is not limited to the wall, but interacts with the soft volumes and with the colours of the fabrics. We worked to avoid a “total look” effect, choosing quantities and combinations: in some rooms, the cushions have the same style of the wallpaper, in others they interpret it with a variation or a chromatic detail.

The impact on the atmosphere is immediate: the rooms seem warmer and more intimate, giving the idea of a “complete” and custom-made design. In addition, the textile element helps to soften the perception of the surfaces and to give depth, as the pattern takes on a different role by moving from the wall to the fabric, becoming less graphic and more tactile.

– With a varied catalogue such as the one proposed by Instabilelab – and with dozens of apartments to decorate – the risk is choice paralysis. Was there an initial criteria that narrowed the field, or did you proceed by progressive combinations?

Initially, the catalogue was a temptation, so we gave ourselves a rule: atmosphere first, then the graphic. We “labelled” each flat with a precise character and then we looked for the appropriate graphic. Once the field was narrowed, the rest was direction work: wallpaper changes completely depending on light, dimensions and environment, so we did many attempts and adjustments.

We divided the work in two phases: an initial selection aimed at narrowing the field (colours, pattern intensity, scale, colour temperature), and then a process of progressive combinations verified in the real environment: natural light, room size, materials already present and, above all, balance between walls and textile elements. In some cases, the choice was immediate, while in others we needed a little “direction”: we had to add, remove or simplify until the right combination was found.

Our aim was not to fill each apartment with different solutions, but to ensure that each graphic was exclusive, coherent with the atmosphere, and in harmony with the others.

– A recurring element in the project is the use of monochromatic wallpaper from the One Color collection combined with the main graphics. Which was the role of these uniform surfaces in creating the overall visual balance?

In a strongly graphic project, solid colour is like silence in music: it is not absence, but rhythm. Thanks to the One Color collection, we made the graphics “sound” better by creating pauses, hierarchies and colour continuity between materials and fabrics. When everything breathes, everything seems more natural.

Monochromatic wallpaper worked as a linking tool: it helped combining decorative wallpaper, furniture and fabrics through a colour “system” that is coherent with the palette of the apartment. In some rooms, it defined hierarchies (where to put emphasis and where to bring a sense of calm), in others it modified proportions and light, thus making the whole space more balanced and contemporary.

It also helped us manage the perception of light: the same pattern changes so much if combined with a monochromatic surface that is calibrated to the right tone.

Actually, solid colours are not the neutral background of the project, but the silent structure that holds everything together and creates harmonious compositions.

– In a hospitality project of this scale, with multiple apartments to coordinate, how important was it to rely on a single supplier for wallpaper, fabrics and integrated solutions? Did the collaboration with Instabilelab influence the operational process as well as the creative process?

Collaboration had a great impact, because in a hospitality project with so many apartments, creativity is not enough: you need a solid system at the operational level. Being able to rely on the same supplier for wallpapers, fabrics and coordinated solutions gave us two enormous advantages: coherence and control.

Thanks to Instabilelab, we felt like working with a language that was already “complete”: graphics were not an isolated element, but they were naturally combined with fabrics and details. This allowed us to imagine each apartment as a small coherent world, with its own atmosphere, without losing the overall identity of the project.

Finally, there is the less visible but more decisive part: when there are so many environments to coordinate, complexity can become a noise. Having a single director means fewer steps, faster decisions, clearer samples, and a continuity that follows the entire design project. In simpler words, creativity remains free, but the process becomes lighter. In the hospitality sector, this is a concrete form of luxury.

We wanted Residence Diana to be understood as a single world, not as a series of rooms. This is why the project was not limited to the apartments, but also extended to the corridors, reception, breakfast room and service areas. Entrusting even these areas to a single director was a choice of trust and responsibility that made the identity of the place more compact, more convincing and more memorable – because guests don’t experience separate environments, they experience the journey.

Architect Zanello created a system in which each apartment is a chapter, each graphic is a voice, each cushion is a connection between the space and its inhabitants.

The design expresses a multi-layered balance: a common structure – colours, materials, visual hierarchies – on which to apply controlled variations. Instabilelab’s graphics become characterising tools; solid colour acts as a connector and calibrator of light; coordinated fabrics bring coherence up to the scale of tactile detail.

This interaction between style and emotions, between pattern and atmosphere, is what shapes the identity of a place. Hospitality planners know that guests don’t remember the finishes, they remember how they felt. A coherent visual language – capable of extending from the walls to the cushions – is the most effective way to turn a stay into a memory.

In this crowded design landscape, full of visual stimuli and complex combinations, monochromatic wallpaper is an invitation to slow down and simplify, choosing essentiality as the main expressive language. The new In.colore collection by Instabilelab enhances the concept of single-colour wallpaper, transforming the wall into a sensorial, reassuring, deep and enveloping surface.

By eliminating the noise of contrasting nuances, the colours are developed thanks to slight tonal variations and delicate textures. They are not flat elements, but a tactile surface that interacts with the ever-changing conditions of light and shadow, thus showcasing a discreet beauty. In.colore is thought for those who recognise the power of the most delicate nuances and choose colour as a conscious design gesture.

The evolution of Instabilelab’s monochromatic wallpaper

In.colore replaces and updates the previous One Color collection, marking an evolution in Instabilelab’s stylistic journey. In a context dominated by visual excess and decorative overlaps, monochromatic wallpaper represents a clear response to contemporary saturation, communicating visual coherence and balance.

In.colore completes Instabilelab’s offer by complementing the bolder graphics of My Way collection and also by harmoniously integrating with all the brand’s decorative proposals. Its strength lies in the ability to interact with furniture, carpets, upholstery and curtains, as well as with more expressive and complex wallpapers, thus becoming a balancing element. The collection consists of six main lines, which are designed to fit into sophisticated and contemporary projects. Each line includes six to eight colour variants, offering a wide range that makes In.colore a transversal design tool, capable of enhancing every detail without overwhelming it.

Texture and depth: when single-colour wallpaper becomes a tactile surface

Thanks to In.colore, single-colour wallpaper overcomes the idea of a uniform surface to become a sensory experience. The vinyl wallpapers present in the collection are characterised by different colours and textures. Their effects and reliefs are designed to amplify colour depth and to create surfaces with delicate volumes, inspired by mosaics and textile weaves. The wall is no longer a mere background, but an active element of the project, capable of interacting with natural and artificial light to generate enveloping atmospheres.

The colour palette favours soft and refined shades such as white, beige, grey and green, which are designed to fit harmoniously into public and residential contexts. Colour is never static; it acts like a subtle presence that complements the space, emphasizing its proportions and creating an engaging yet measured sensory experience.

Monochromatic wallpaper: applications and technical characteristics of In.colore

Versatility is one of the strengths of In.colore: it is ideal for walls and ceilings and can also be applied to stairwells and corridors, where it amplifies the perception of space and creates visual continuity. In addition, it is an effective solution for architectural elements that are often difficult to decorate, such as recessed areas, partition walls and curved surfaces, as well as sliding doors, flush doors, columns and arches. From a technical point of view, vinyl wallpaper ensures easy maintenance and scratch resistance, meeting the needs of high-traffic environments without sacrificing aesthetic quality.

Thanks to the new I.magine collection, Instabilelab offers a selection of soft-colour wallpaper designed to interact with architecture. This new collection does not just cover walls, but turns them into active design elements, capable of interpreting light, shadow and colour with a measured and elegant language. I.magine is born to enhance balance, atmosphere and character in any room, without ever interfering: a discreet presence, designed to support the space and amplify its perceptive quality.

I.magine: a soft-colour wallpaper collection designed for architecture and interior design

I.magine is a neutral-colour wallpaper collection designed to blend into space without overwhelming it. Its essential visual language is made of delicate lines, light compositions and surfaces that suggest more than they show. The soft tones and nuances move between the visible and the perceived, striking a delicate balance between tangible materials and sensation.

Compared to the bolder graphics of the My Way collection, the distinctive prevalence of delicate colours is inspired by nature and landscapes. This chromatic choice emphasises measure and lightness, making I.magine particularly suitable for contemporary projects where the overall harmony of space is a central element.

I.magine: structure and colour variants

Each graphic of the I.magine collection is offered in three discreet and essential colour variants, designed to suit different contexts. These colour variants increase compositional freedom and combination possibilities, thus allowing to modulate the atmosphere and intensity without losing visual coherence. Surfaces maintain their aesthetic continuity even when changing in tone and perception, making the collection extremely versatile. The intangible nuances and neutral colours enable the creation of balanced, refined and simple environments, without renouncing a defined identity.

I.magine: applications, substrates and design contexts

The I.magine collection is a flexible tool intended for public and residential spaces with soft aesthetics, in which delicate floral motifs and light compositions create cosy and sophisticated environments. Besides the residential context, the collection is also particularly suitable for projects in the restaurant and hotel industry, where a measured balance between decoration and architecture is required.

I.magine is compatible with almost all substrates offered by Instabilelab, as they are designed to meet specific technical and functional requirements:

New Middle: vinyl wallpaper with an elegant material texture reminiscent of linen.

Cross: another vinyl wallpaper that features a more pronounced texture, adding visual and tactile depth to the surface.

Green: a smooth, predominantly cellulose and PVC-free material.

Fibratex: glass fibre covering designed for applications in wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchen backsplashes and shower stalls, as well as for exterior walls.

Sonora: wallpaper that improves acoustic comfort by reducing reverberation and echo.

The I.magine collection can also be printed on carpets, furnishing fabrics and curtain fabrics, thus providing the opportunity of developing coordinated designs on several elements. This approach reinforces the identity of interiors, integrating vertical space and textile components into a single aesthetic language.

On the slopes of Mount Pirchiriano, overlooking the lakes of Avigliana (TO), Cascina Morelli 1862 is ready to become a design B&B after five years of architectural restoration carried out by the firm of building surveyor Giorgio Gillio. Here, time seems to be suspended between rural memory and contemporary comfort.

The Maritano family transformed their farmhouse into a refuge where each room pays homage to an ancient craft – barn, spinning wheel, granary, cellar – restoring dignity and poetry to gestures and knowledge now lost.

In this dialogue between past and present, architect Paolo Francia created an interior design project that challenges conventions: in the attic rooms with exposed beams, antique furniture and rural tools coexist with Instabilelab wallpaper, which is called upon not to decorate but to narrate. Odette, Lilibet, Madara, and Armonia graphics become the absolute protagonists of the rooms, emphasising the contrast with the antique furniture and transforming each room into the visual chapter of a larger story.

The result is a unique balance: the authentic rurality of the Piedmontese farmhouse interacts with contemporary botanical patterns, giving life to rooted and surprising atmospheres. This project demonstrates how wallpaper can be the narrative voice of a space, rather than just a wall covering.

We met with architect Francia to explore the design choices and technical challenges of this project, discovering how each graphic was selected to evoke a craft, an atmosphere, a fragment of collective memory.

-At Cascina Morelli, each room is named after an ancient craft: Barn, Spinning Wheel, Granary, Cellar. How did you choose among Instabilelab graphics in order to translate the identity of each environment into a visual language? Was there a direct correspondence between the evoked craft and the graphic chosen, or did you work on more subtle and poetic combinations?

Yes, the choice made was certainly based on the combination between the graphics and the name of the ancient craft, but more than anything it was marked by the emotional feeling that the wallpaper suggested to us.

– One of the main features of this project is the contrast between contemporary wallpaper and antique furniture – old sewing machines, antique wardrobes, rough wood tools. How did you create this interaction between surfaces and objects from such different eras? What role did the scale and colour intensity of the graphics play in balancing this relationship?

To create this interaction, you have to create visual emotions. In fact, the finishes of the furnishing materials were chosen based on the scale and colour intensity of the graphic present in each wallpaper, playing with the juxtaposition of modernity and tradition.

– The bedrooms are all located in the attic. Sloped ceilings and exposed beams represent both an architectural constraint and an expressive opportunity. How did the technical features of Instabilelab substrates facilitate the application in such irregular contexts? Were there any specific adjustments in the layout or size of the graphics? In the master suite, wallpaper guides the guest all the way into the bathroom, covering also the bath area: which technique did you use for this particular application?

In this project, wallpaper becomes part of the architectural shape of the rooms, thus determining the volume of the rooms themselves. Thanks to the graphic possibility of arranging and adjusting Instabilelab wallpapers, it has been possible to perfectly integrate them into the apartment.

– In the Cellar Suite, lighting directly interacts with wallpaper, amplifying its depth and dynamism. How important was it to design your project based on the relationship between light, graphics, and materials in order to achieve an immersive atmosphere, yet coherent with the rural identity of the farmhouse?

In this project, the design of indirect and direct artificial light plays a key role in creating the right cosy, immersive, and contextualised atmosphere.

– In a hospitality project such as Cascina Morelli, wallpaper must not only meet aesthetic requirements, but also durability, maintenance and resistance over time. Which technical characteristics of Instabilelab materials convinced you to choose them for a hospitality context?

My choice of Instabilelab materials was based on the fact that the company offers different options for substrates, textures, and specific finishes to satisfy every need. These materials perfectly meet aesthetic and functional requirements in any context.

– Cascina Morelli tells a story about family, roots, and rebirth. How did Instabilelab graphics help translating this emotional dimension into a spatial experience for the guests? Is there a room in which you feel that this interaction between memory and design is particularly successful?

The emotional dimension was the basis of our design choices, because the emotion experienced by the guests must remain imprinted in their mind. For this reason, there is no room in which it is easier to sense this interaction, as we wanted to create a distinct emotional experience for each space.

Cascina Morelli 1862 shows how wallpaper can go beyond its decorative role to become a narrative tool capable of converting family stories, ancient crafts and rural memories into a visual surface. Architect Francia directed a project where the contrast between modernity and tradition does not generate friction, but harmony, dialogue, and visual emotions.

This result was possible thanks to the flexibility of the solutions proposed by Instabilelab, which enabled wallpaper to inhabit every corner of the farmhouse – from the attic rooms to the walls of the bath area – without ever denaturalising the original rural context.

Inside the pop-up, the Ninfa graphic in 01 and 02 variants was the absolute star, supported by a selection of articles from Collezione Privata Volumeuno, CarpetiaLAB and My Way. The result was a harmonious and elegant setting, perfectly coherent with the main theme: a visual narrative in which every element was in tune with a fluid and inspirational balance.

Upcoming international stages and the 10th Instabilelab anniversary

In 2026, Instabilelab will play a leading role in other major international events. In March, the Münchner Stoff Frühling trade fair in Munich will be an opportunity to meet the best textile brands in a rich and design-oriented context. In November, on the other hand, EquipHotel in Paris and Interihotel in Madrid will represent key moments for describing Instabilelab’s vision applied to the sectors of hospitality and hotellerie. New trends, surfaces and innovative solutions will be introduced.

2026 will be a particularly special year because the brand celebrates its 10th anniversary. This major achievement represents the occasion for sharing Instabilelab’s story, growth and future goals with its partners, clients and friends.

New opportunities and many ideas to design, share and grow

Along with trade fairs, in 2026 Instabilelab will propose a series of professional and training initiatives. An event dedicated to our brand agents is already planned for the early months of the year: an opportunity for networking and updating on the latest news. A training course for wallpaper installers will be organized after the success of the previous editions. Mastering technical skills and work quality will be the main goals of the course.

In addition, the series of meetings for architects started in the second half of 2025 will be concluded with recognized sessions in February, March and May. The meetings will grant professional course credits.

These events are a concrete opportunity to discuss, draw inspiration and grow together, thus strengthening the spirit of collaboration between professionals and Instabilelab’s design vocation.
